This verse says to me, think about all the good things! No matter whats happening in the world or in your life, think about all the things God has given you. I often pray when things are going wrong or I need the Lord's guidance, but then I remember I should be thankful for what is going right for me and how should I think about that more. As teachers, we often think about our to-do lists, problem behaviors, or conflicts with administration or teachers and we get caught up in this negative energy. In those times, we should be thinking about what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, or praiseworthy!
This verse reminds me to be grateful. It reminds me to focus my energy on what is right and true, and to have an attitude of positive change so that I don't get so caught up in the negative. I often think that this is how to devil gets us, to focus on the negative whether in the world or more specifically within someone else (or ourselves). It's hard to be full of the Lord's spirit when you spirit and thoughts are full of things that are bad and depressing. To be focused on the light of the Lord is to be focused on the attributes listed in this verse. These will promote within me the attitude that I need in order to progress and make change.

I have struggled with this very thing these past 10 days but what I know for sure is that the people we surround ourselves with can remind us of this important lesson. And I hope that when my friends and family are struggling that I can be there for them.

In especially those disagreeable moments we should try to find some good in it. It might be hard to see and understand at first, but with some time to reflect and maybe some venting with a trustworthy person, there will be light at the end of the tunnel.

To me this means to think about all things good. Things for yourself and all things good about other people. God wants us to be good to others and ourselves, not to think ill of them. As long as you are thinking and saying things about yourself and others that can only be positive, then God will approve. This is hard to do ALL the time! We get angry, or upset at the things others do and we want to say things we might regret. However, God wants us to take those moments and pray for peace about the situation. Again, treat others like you want to be treated.
To me this verse is telling me that no matter what happens in life remember and think about the good things that surround you. Those are the things that will get you through any bad situation. When you think about the happy and positive and pure things in life it will make you happier! God created beauty in everything and we need to look for the beauty in every situation.
I love the message of this scripture reading. Focus on the positive! I always start prayer with all of the many blessings that I have been given. I find it very important to start that way in order to open my eyes before making requests of God! So much beauty goes unnoticed by so many...myself included. I always try to see God's Love and Beauty in nature, in my family members, in my pets, in my students and clients and their families. I find this practice to be very life-giving to me, and when I forget to do this for while, I notice a negative difference in myself.
This is such a great verse because it is what so many people, including myself forget to focus on, which is the positives in our lives! It is so much easier to focus on something bad that happened in your day because it is hard to get off your mind. Focusing on that 1 negative thing, can really make you forget all the positive things in your life. Just like how in the one article we have read where the reading presented a strategy on when delivering negative news with a parent, always say three positive things first. I think we should have this kind of attitude in our own lives. When something negative happens to us, we have to list 5 positive things that are happening in our lives too. I think this would help us!
This verse is something people should look back to whenever they are going through a difficult time. It's important to look at the glass as half full, and look at everything going well in your life. If we go though life only thinking about the things going wrong, we miss out on enjoying everything else life has to offer. It's really important to stay optimistic and build healthy relationships based on viewing their positive qualities.
I think that this is saying to focus on the good things in life and in our day to day activities. I think that if we can focus on these things, we will also be able to live them and teach them through example. All of these attributes are Christ-like, and in allowing them to shine good in our lives, we also reflect this light out toward others. This is important for teachers to remember, because we set a tone in our classrooms for students and staff alike.

This scripture reminds me to think of the positive things in life. There are always going to be tough times, but it is how we get through the tough times that matter.

Think about the goodness in life! I think sometimes we all get so caught up on negativity and the violence that is happening around us. This quote is perfectly fitting for me right now. I am going through the most difficult thing I could ever imagine, but I am trying to look at all the positives during this whole time. Don't let the bad outweigh the good.

Think about things that build others up. Think on things that are right and help you present your best work. This can apply to relationships with paras and other professionals we encounter every day. It can apply to the way we treat people and can remind us not to be on a power trip when giving instructions to paras. It can help us remember to encourage those that work with us and focus on the progress and not so much perfection in our work with students.
When we elevate our minds and mediate on these things we will see righteousness prevail in every situation. We must keep in mind that the outcome will be how we perceive it. If we approach any situation with a negative attitude then the outcome will become negative. However, if we focus on the positive things that are noble, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent or praiseworthy then positivity and happiness will be present.
