May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart, be pleasing in your sight,Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

  1. May the words that flow from my mouth, be those that are a part of my true self; a reflection of to whom I belong. I think that is what this verse means to me. I want others to know that I think before I speak, and that my words will be a reflection that Christ lives in me. This verse is about my relationship with the Lord, and how if I live for him, this will also be reflected in my words and actions.

  3. I think this verse is saying that everything you say and do should be pleasing to the Lord. How you speak to others can influence how others view the Lord. If you speak kindly and are kind, others may see Christ in you. If you speak harshly and are mean, others may not see Christ in you.

  4. To me, this verse means that everything you say and do should not only be pleasing to the Lord but also to ourselves. There are a handful of times where I say or do something that I know just isn't right, and most often I find myself apologizing to the Lord and asking for forgiveness. I really like how Brooke said, when you speak kindly and do kind things, others may see Christ in you. I can completely relate to that.

The things that I say and truly feel, should reflect what Christ is teaching me. He wants me to speak well of others and have goodness in my heart.

  6. Lord, please help the words that come out of my mouth be from the heart and let my words have your approval.

This would be the verse in my own words. I must ask the Lord to help me use pleasing words that are from my heart. I want my words to be approved by him. I must use words that others do not find hurtful.

  7. To me this verse is saying that both your spoken and unspoken words (your thoughts) should be pleasing to the Lord and should be Christ centered. I also really like what Brooke said about how when you speak kindly others may see Christ in you. That is what we should aim for!

  8. We're talking about communication and reading about communication. As Christian educators, it's important to make the effort to communicate truthfully and with grace. The words we say can be acceptable to God and also help us to collaborate and work with others in our field.

  9. To me this verse is saying, speak from the heart and use words that are caring and meaningful. Don't say something that you do not mean and don't let your words be offensive to others.

  10. I feel like this means that not only should we be outwardly pleasing to God, in our speech and actions, but we should also have kind and understanding thoughts that match. It is important to believe what we are saying in our hearts, and not just saying things we don't mean or believe because they sound nice. God is our rock and our redeemer, so naturally we won't always kind thoughts to match our words, but we should strive for them. This is important to remember when speaking with Students and families, as well as colleagues. People can sense when our thoughts don't match our words. We should strive for empathy and understanding when dealing with conflicts or difficult situations, so that we may better communicate what is in our hearts in a kind manner.

  11. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart, be pleasing in your sight,Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14
This verse says to me that our spoken and unspoken words should be reflective of our thoughts in our daily lives. Those we come in contact with will understand the path that we have chosen based on our words about ourselves, others, and Christ.

  12. for me this verse, means that what I say, the words I say I mean, are words that I have thought about, that I have taken into consideration the consequences that may bring once they leave my mouth. And in sharing what I have said, it may be pleasing to my God who is the reason of my being.

  14. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart, be pleasing in your sight,Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

I translate this scripture as, may everything that I do please God, the words that I say and how I truly feel on the inside should reflect my walk with Christ. People should be able to tell by the way that I carry myself that I am His.

  15. I really like the way Gabriela described this scripture passage reflecting that its not just what you say that can help or hurt someone, but it's also important to be thoughtful in how you say something. If your love is shown in your words and actions, it will be pleasing to God.

  16. This scripture recognizes the Lord as a Rock, meaning strength and Redeemer, meaning savior. The desire is to remain in a righteous relationship with God and seek to live a life pleasing to him speaking with honesty and with a pure heart as a representative of Christ. The words we speak can create actions or reactions.

To me this verse means to always speak truthfully and from the heart. It is so important as educators that we speak from the heart and we do what is best for our students at the end of the day.

  18. This verse means to always speak kindly and from the heart. As educators, this is so important. We need to remember that we play an important role in the lives of children and families. When we speak with families we need to remember that the word the parents hear come from a place of love and respect.

  20. May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart, be pleasing in your sight,Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer. Psalm 19:14

In my opinion this verse means that the way we talk to one another should always come from our hearts in a loving an caring manner. We should never use our words to tear down someone; we should use our words to lift one another up to meet our full potential. If we took the time to only look at the positives that people have and do we could begin to make positive connections and not bother with things such as color, race, religion we would be looking at one another as supporters of all.

  21. In my opinion this verse tells us to examine our hearts and minds before we speak. We must choose our words carefully so our meaning is communicated in the caring way we intended.

  22. I agree with what so many of you have already said. This verse reminds me to again think before I speak. It is so easy to get caught up "in the heat of the moment" when students or parents are in an upset state. It is important to remember that we should always come from a place of caring, support and compassion and present a level-headed and calm self toward others.

  24. This scripture to me means that we cannot forget the Lord is always with us. Think before we speak, speak with kindness and from the heart, and mean what you say. I think we all have agreed with the meaning of this scripture.
